Annual Picnic Date Scheduled

The Club will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, September 25th at 5:00.  We will meet at Alvarado Station (Creeper Trail milepost 8.5)  this year, the site of the newly completed replica train station.  By then, we also hope that the new picnic pavilion along the river will be finished as well.  Catering of BBQ will be from Marc Wilkinson at Old Alvarado Station, located just across the parking lot. 

Guests should bring a lawn chair and a side dish to share, but if you can't we don't want that to be an impediment to your attendance.  This year we are offering a special invitation to the town employees of Abingdon's Parks and Recreation Department, led by Kevin Worley, who have done so much to repair and maintain the trail this year.  Even with a tornado and a downed trestle in 2011, the trail looks better than ever, with much of the thanks going to Kevin and his crew.

Members, prospective members, kids, family, and friends of members are all welcome to attend.
